Judith (Judy) Marie Josephs passed away, surrounded by loved ones, early in the morning on Tuesday, February 18, 2025. Judy was born on July 23, 1933, in Chicago to Walter and Sabina Polchlopek (Iglewski). She attended Foreman High School. After many years raising her children, she went back to school and graduated in 1976 from DePaul University as the National Honor Society's Outstanding Commerce Graduate. She was the only female student in her class. She was an independent woman, always traveling around the city on her own. She eventually opened her own accounting advisory business. She was also the treasurer of First Friday Club for Old St. Patrick's in Chicago for almost 30 years.

Judy was beyond her years when it came to independence for women of her generation. She loved to take in the arts, get lost in books, spend time outdoors, in her garden growing herbs and beautiful flowers, and with her family. She always put everyone else before herself.

She married Daniel Josephs on October 9, 1954. They made their home in Chicago and have traveled the world together, from South America to New Zealand and Europe. Judy especially loved to visit the islands of Italy where 'there was never a bad tomato'. They loved spending summer evenings downtown attending concerts at Millennium Park, and winter days hiking in the Arizona desert. They had seventy amazing years together.

Judy is survived by her husband Daniel; sons Jeff (Mary) and Brian (Catherine); grandchildren Kevin (Segolene), Colleen (Jack), Sharon, Jacqueline, Chris, Caitlin (John), Peter, Liam and Luca; and greatgrandchildren Miles and Jamie. Judy loved the family she and Dan created more than anything. She was preceded in death and will be joining her parents Walter and Sabina, her sister Joy, and her two beloved sons Dan (Abbe) and Mark.

Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home, 10501 W. Cermak Rd., Westchester on Sunday, February 23, 2025. All to meet Monday, February 24th at Saint John of the Cross Church, 5005 Wolf Rd., Western Springs for an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Mass. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
