Judith Dages Obituary

Dages, Judith Ann

Judith Ann Dages, nee Murphy, age 88, passed peacefully in her sleep and strong in her faith on December 11, 2021. Judy was the beloved wife of James F. Dages for over 60 years. She was an exceptional mother, devoted to Kevin (Lee) Dages, Kathleen (Matt) Brennan, Timothy Emmett (Anni) Dages, Moira (Greg) Hathcock, and the late infant Joseph Dages. Judy taught her children by example, on a daily basis, about commitment to family. Grandma Judy was adored by Lucas, Sam, Maggie (Greg), Colleen, Brian, Moira, Joe, Tom, Maiti, Kaitey, Bridey, Jack, Emmett, Nick, and Bailey. Most recently, she became Great Grandma Judy to Murphy Scalzo. She was a source of endless fun and laughter to her grandchildren and great grandchild. Judy will be lovingly remembered by her sister Monica (Dan) Keogh, and her brothers Roger (Marilyn) Murphy, Brian (the late Marlene) Murphy, and the late Malachy Murphy. Visitation will be Friday, December 17, 2021, 9:30 a.m. until time of Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. at St. Catherine Laboure, 3535 Thornwood Avenue, Glenview, IL 60026. For those attending Mass, please wear masks. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Chicago, PO BOX 7154, Carol Stream, IL 60197. Info: donnellanfuneral.com or (847)675-1990.

We were both (Cathleen and Rene) very surprised but happy to see this message about Judy. When someone passes to heaven they do still stay in our hearts. So we thank you for reminding us of all that Judy was to her close family, cousins and friends. We know her spirit is with us now and will be forever. We will send a message to her and also to all of you, through prayer.

Emmett, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. You and your entire family are in my prayers. Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord. And let perpetual light shine upon her. May she rest in peace. Amen. May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.

Cathleen and Rene Van Someren

December 16, 2021

Memories of Judy and the Murphy clan flood my thoughts on this day of sorrow and happiness.
Of course I, Cathleen, remember all of the fun times at your house Judy, when your mom and dad (Roger and Babe) hosted one of the famous Murphy party. We all gathered for a visit, all too infrequently, enjoyed food overflowing the tables and hugs and kisses from beloved Aunts and Uncles and ALL THE POP YOU WANTED FOR FREE...a true bonanza!! Judy was always a regal figure standing tall enjoying all of the festivities, taking the younger cousins under her wing, making sure we had a good time and weren´t too overwhelmed!!!
Then there was the birthday party for dad (Tom Murphy, brother of Roger). Rene was in charge of taking several elders home from the party. Babe was the last one to be dropped off. Babe could not remember exactly where she lived ( with Judy)!!! So Rene (from Jersey and living on the North side of Chicago) patiently drove down many, many streets. He heard "Wait there is Judys house" only to discover once again that no that house wasn´t quite right. By now Rene was talking to the Lord and it wasn´t pretty!!! BUT out of the blue, waving like crazy,
like manna from heaven, Judy appeared in front of her house and Babe was gladly returned to Judy!!! A wonderful, happy reunion. Thank you, Judy for helping me reminisce about a time gone by...like a million years ago or sometimes like yesterday. Have a wonderful reunion in heaven, visiting, laughing and remembering all the good times. We will always
love you. Cathleen and Rene Van Someren
