Having worked with Juan many times throughout the years I am aware that Hines Hospital has lost a really great man and doctor. We will all miss him here and wish the very best to his family.

Dr Juan Valdivia came to Hines Veterans Hospital at a time when its very large Substance Abuse Department was greatly in need of leadership.
He provided that leadership by being a role model in the way he personally treated patients.
He provided that leadership in the way he solved complex administrative problems.
He provided that leadership by his extensive medical knowledge.
He provided that leadership by fostering teamwork.
Indeed, He provided leadership in sterling fashion.
May God bless Juan.
