We just learned of Juan´s passing. He coached both our children in Tallahassee, Fl. I have always felt so fortunate for my children to have had the privilege of being coached by Juan. He meant a great deal to our family.

I have had the pleasure of knowing the Mendoza family for many years, watching the girls grow up & working for the parks. I was fortunate to work with Juan, judging many gymnastic meets. My thoughts & prayers go out to Lisa & their girls. Keep all the memories close to your heart, he will truly be missed by many.

Juan was a dedicated professional and helpful to me as we worked together on various projects and managing incidents for 15 years. I was able to see his love for our staff and all the gymnastics´ participants. My daughters saw a different side of him as kids and thought he was awesome, and he WAS! He is so dearly missed but he´s resting in eternal sunshine. RIL Juan

I knew Juan through his Beautiful daughter Maggie at Clark Park Boathouse. He was a nice man and gave me great advice on the Chicago Park District. Maggie was a Sweetheart, I told him it was a pleasure to work with her. I was shocked when, I heard he passed! Juan was so fit and helped me lose weight help me diet and exercise! My condolences to Juan's Family whom I met at Rebecca Ann Herbig Memorial. Juan was a Class Act, he was a Saint! He helped everyone! God Bless his Soul, God needed a Gymnast Instructor in Heaven, He got a Great one!

I had the good fortune of having Juan and his then little girls in my Moms Pops and Tots class at Normandy Park. Juan also worked for the park. He believed in me and worked to get me promoted to a full time instructor. That promotion changed my life for the better financially. I will always be eternally grateful to him for that. He was a challenging boss, mostly in good ways, but if you knew Juan he could be stubborn too which taught me patience. I knew him also as a good father and husband to his wife and girls. He was a dedicated park employee and I´m sorry to hear that he was not able to enjoy his retirement years. Prayers to him and his family and I hope he is enjoying his beautiful country of Bolivia that he always spoke about, somewhere on the other side.

I worked with Juan for many years, he was always such a gentleman. I enjoyed our meetings as we would discuss all the needs for his Gymnastics program and the challenges it posed in meeting Purchasing requirements. He was so proud of his CPD staff and all their accomplishments. We often talked, and he also told me of his family, his pride shown thru the smile in his eyes. He has been missed, greatly!
