I miss you so much. I can't believe you've been gone for a whole year already. In some ways it seems like a lifetime, and in many others it seems like just yesterday you were taken from us. To the Thomas Family,
Joe's death has deepley saddened us. As you know we were out of town at the time and regret that we were not there to say good bye to Joe. It is truly a shame that this world is less a wonderful, good, loving and caring young man. He will, however, be in our hearts always. Our love, thoughts and prayers are with you.

Uncle Joe, Aunt Chuck, and Krista... the loss of Lil Joe has torn me apart and i've seem to find myself lost right now. however if joe was here he would pick me up, throw me over his shoulder (as he has done many times) and carry me through this rough time. unfortantly he's not here to do that but i know he's lookin down on me and helpin me from above. i think about him everyday and carry 2 of his guitar picks on me everyday. im glad that i was able to come home and give you guys my support. i will do my best in the Army and make joe proud cuz he told me that he was proud of me for joinin. i have the best guardian angel lookin over me durin these tough times with life and for when i go to war in march. im so sorry for our loss. he may have been bigger and older than me but he will always be my lil cous

I am so sorry for the loss of your brother. It is hard and I know the feeling as I lost my dad and brother in law suddenly. Remember your faith and all the good memories to get you through the tuff times.

Joe, Chuck, Krista, & Gina,
I am so sorry for your loss. It is tough to find words to accurate describe Joe T. and the impact he had on those around him, including myself. I will always remember Joe's smile, his positive attitude, and how much he loved life. Joe, among many things, was a great volleyball player, and I am so glad I was able to have him as a teammate at SJU. We would spend long car rides and late nights philosophizing about anything and everything. Joe was smart, funny, great to be around and his enthusiasm for life was contagious. He loved you all so much, and I appreciate you sharing this great person with us.
Joe, your time on this earth was too short, but I know that you lived it fully. I will always have memories of the great times we shared together. You will always be a friend and a teammate.

Joe was the reason that I started playing the guitar, one of my favorite hobbies. It's probably been about 6-7 years since I last saw him, but I always wanted to meet up with him again.
It's a terrible thing that happened. You were a good man, Joe.

Joe was a former student of mine at St. Thecla. I will never forget him because his antics always brought a smile to my face. He was intelligent, inquisitive and had a warm and friendly personality. Joe always kept me on my toes. It doesn't surprise me that he became such a successful and caring young adult.
My heart goes out to the Thomas and Olson families. Joe will be missed by all who knew him. So very sorry.

Our parish family of St. Edwards in Bloomington, Minnesota, continue to keep Joe and his family and Gina and her family, and all their many friends in our prayers at the masses this weekend. Joe worshiped here a few times when he was visiting Gina and her family. He truly struck me as a wonderful young man. One lesson we learned at St. Johns is that no person is an island, we are all connected. Those connections continue through the love of God. God bless you and keep you.

Joe was one of the best teammates I have ever had. He was always strong and positive on the floor, and he raised our level of play whenever he entered the game. He was also a great person off the floor, coaching us all with some keen and very original insights. I feel honored to have known Joe, and I look fondly back at the time we shared together on the SJU volleyball court. Losing Joe was a tremendous loss, but he certainly left us all with warm memories. I will remember Joe as a strong, intelligent, sensitive and funny man whom left a lasting impression on me that I will never forget. I feel blessed to have shared in his life with you, and I will be eternally grateful for Joe's life and his spirit.

I heard of your loss from my sister, Janet, whom you befriened when she was a new student at Columbus grade school. You were the first one to approach her and ask "Will you be my friend"? and from that day on, she considered you her "best" friend. I remember you both shared an interest in music and bouffant hairstyles!! You were both very glamourous!!!!
