Joe & Debbie,
I'm sure that Joey is busy trading Mighty Beanz and reminding the other angels to use "Home Row Keys" when typing on their heavenly computers. His courage and spirit of love surround us daily in school. God Bless both of you.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Sykes,
My heart goes out to you! Because my son died from a brain tumor, after a ten-year struggle, I am keenly aware of the pain your son's illness and death have caused you. My son's tumor appeared just as he was starting his adult life at 21. He always felt that he hadn't had the opportunity to accomplish anything. Yet, judging from the vast number of people whose lives he touched very significantly, he actually accomplished MORE. From your description of your son, he has touched countless lives. Each summer we have a golf outing to raise funds for brain-tumor research sponsored by the American Brain Tumor Association. So far, we've raised about $75,000. My son Paul would never have believed he would be credited for this achievement. His family and friends see life differently now. As one of Paul's friends said, "We don't sweat the small stuff. FAMILY is what's important." The pain you feel now isn't going to go away anytime soon. Yet the firm conviction of what a blessing your son has been to you and those who knew him will bring you tremendous joy for the rest of your lives!
Sincerely,
Maryann Fabbri

As much as the personal trauma you might be going thru, I am sure you have a complete understanding of how blessed you were by sharing this part of yor life with Joey. Take solice in the fact that there was no child who was ever loved more by his parents. Your love also inspires other parents to reach for new levels of love and devotion to their families. God will love and bless you always.

My deepest sympathy to both of you. I'm the lady that asked Cardinal George to pray for Joey when he was having surgery and he said he would offer his mass for him that day. I can't tell you in words how I hurt for you and pray today that God will give you strength and courage during this difficult time. God Bless.
