Former Managing Editor of World Book Encyclopedia; retired 1981. Longtime member of Saint Thecla Parish Community and former baseball coach with the Norwood Park District Youth Leagues. I worked with Joe in the 1970s and 1980s when I was a brand new editor on the World Book Annuals. Joe was always unfailing kind to me, and I learned a great deal from him. I will always remember him as a wonderful gentleman.
