Joseph Rossi Obituary

Rossi, Joseph E. died in Naples, Florida on September 4 at the age of 75. His loving and devoted wife, Roberta (Bobbi) was at his side. Born in Chicago, Mr. Rossi played four years of football at Fenwick High School. After graduation, he volunteered for the Army. Returning from his Army service, Mr. Rossi enrolled in Marquette University and graduated in 1960. That year he began a distinguished business career, starting as a successful salesman, and within a few years established his own industrial chemical company (EXCHEM). Later he joined Progressive Bronze Works, Inc. (Excelsis) in Chicago, Illinois, where he rotated through a variety of management positions. Mr. Rossi eventually purchased Progressive Bronze Works and became its CEO. He embarked on a program to streamline the manufacturing process, while creating and introducing new designs. The result was robust growth which positioned Progressive Bronze as an industry innovator and leader. Two years ago, Mr. Rossi sold Progressive Bronze and retired. He along with his wife satisfied their sense of adventure by traveling extensively overseas, and frequently visited Chicago. Joseph Edward Rossi, was the beloved husband of Roberta (Bobbi), nee Lewis; Father of Thomas, Joseph (Cindy), James (Rebecca), Susan; dear brother of James (Rea), Joan Ward, and the late Mary Cozzi. He is survived by several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. At Mr. Rossi's request there will be no memorial service.
