Joey and I were not as close as he was with other people. But he came to me when he wanted to talk about something on his mind. He texted me late at night, during the small hours of the morning, and during the day. I would always see him riding his bike or walking into Westfield. I'd always stop in to say hi or steal some of his drink. We hung out at parks, with other groups of people, or by ourselves for a little while. I'm going to miss him, I already do. He changed my life and made me see it from the way he lived it. Careless, and free. But now life will never be the same without him. On the best of days, the world will still be a little empty without him in it.

Today was one of the hardest days of my life. Walking up to the casket with a good friend lying in there. Sitting there alone and walking around looking at the pictures made me think of all the memories we had together. I couldn't stop crying. I know he's in a better place now. I know he would rather see us happy instead of grieving over his death. It will get better soon. Thoughts and prayers go out to him, his family and the people who loved him.

My deepest condolences to the family and many friends Joseph had. May you find comfort in knowing that there are others in the world that share your sorrow. It hurts our heart when someone so young passes on. Please take comfort in knowing that God keeps those who die in his memory because they are precious in his eyes. If you can please read theses comforting words in Psalms 116:15.Again my deepest and sincere condolences to your families and friends.

I still remember the day I met Joey like it was yesterday. I met him at Westfield in the waiting area, he came over and we talked for a bit. I would always run into Joey around the Westfield and Pantry Lane area. I would always talk to him and he would always put a smile on my face. When I was upset he would try to make me laugh. He would help me out if I had an issue. He was such a good friend of mine and I'm still in shock. I non stop cried at home and at school it was hard not to break down crying. Words can't describe how tragic this was. My thoughts and prayers go out to him, his family and the people who were deeply hurt by this. I love you Joey, and miss you.

Joey, my beautiful grandson, my heart aches for you. There is no answer why this happened to you. But I know this, your dad has you now, and your two grandmothers greeted you with all the love they have for you. The pain you have had for a long time is now gone. There is only happiness in the Kingdom of God.I will see you again and be elated when I do.

I am so sorry for your loss. I wish I was there to offer a hug and an ear. Joe will always have a special place in my heart from the years that I taught him in middle school. He was such a stinker!!!! But I did enjoy working with him! He still contacted me, even after going on to high school. He even kept in contact after I moved to Texas. My heart breaks for all of you, and for Joe. I wish he was able to find peace differently and pray that he has it now!! Lots of hugs, thoughts, prayers, and love to the whole family!!

Dan - he adored you like no little brother ever. He spoke so highly of you and always wanted to make you proud of him. I hope he succeeded.
