Dear Marlene & Family,

What a shock to me and what a loss to so many people. How many hundreds of 8th grade children had their lives enriched by Joe's devotion to the McGugan Junior High School French Club Trip? Joe organized so many great and clever ideas for the kids, and many made them stretch in maturity and scope of experience. His untold hours of planning (and often, coercing!) venues to allow these young children access was appreciated by so many. I know my two girls owe a lot to Joe for his focus and determination to make their trips memorable. Knowing him personally, I can also say he was quite humorous, never mean or biting, and yes, a gentleman and gentle man. Bless his heart and please accept my most sincere sympathies at this time.

Dear Marlene and Family:
Our hearts goes out to you with tears of sorrow on the loss of Joe, a real mench. His life has ended but the memory of all of his loving acts of kindness will live on. We will miss him and we pray that you will find comfort from your family and friends that treasure your and Joe's love and friendship. Ruben and Mary

We are still stunned by the news. Joe was the nicest person with only good thoughts. There was not a mean bone in his body. He was kindness and consideration personified. He will be missed.
