I have no words of encouragement, I am afraid. I found comfort in fully believing that my grandfather would suffer no more. And it was nice to know I had friends who cared, even though they didn't really understand what I was going through. Everyone has different experiences in loss and sorrow. I got upset at people trying too hard. Later to realize that is what would have helped them, though it did not work for me.
Good luck on your journey through sorrow. You have lost a very precious element of your life. You SHOULD miss that.

My dearest Papa, words can not express how much I will miss you and how much I dearly love you. You have taught me so much about life. You also showed me and taught me so much about love, faith, laughter, dedication, hard work, commitment, truth, giving, and overall responsibility. Your laughter and your smile, I know I will miss most as those were the keys into your soul. You will forever be in my heart. I thank you for being understanding, the most forgiving, and just the best overall grandfather a granddaughter, grandson in law, and great grandson, could ever ask for. I will be sure to keep your memory alive with Zachary and tell him the numerous stories you had always shared with all of us. Especially your love for the Chicago Cubs and for your gardening.
Thank you for sharing your incredible life with all of us.
I love you Papa and hope you have much peace and happiness.
With all of our love, Wes, Cathy, and Zach
