To Joe's Family,
I am a faculty member at UIC Pharmacy, and knew Joe pretty well at work. His passing was a tremendous shock to all of us. He left us way too soon. Many people in the College relied on Joe, and we all liked and respected him as a colleague and consummate professional. He will be missed, and his absence noticed for a long time to come.

Dear Liz, I am so sorry to hear of Joe's death--you have moved deeper into the difficult landscape of loss but as we said to each at Charlotte's service--a small consolation is that the loss is so great and that the love has so sustained and transformed us. I will be thinking of you and perhaps we can have tea some afternoon to make twilight less oppressive. Mary H-B

I am a faculty member in the College of Pharmacy. I sought Joe's assistance numerous times over the years. Joe was always so helpful and knowledgeable. I had the pleasure of sitting with Joe at an event several years ago. We had such a nice conversation, and I really enjoyed getting to know him on a personal level. I will truly miss him.
