Holba, Joseph A. age 86, of Calumet City, proud WWII Veteran of the U.S. Army, at rest March 1, 2010, beloved husband for 51 years to the late Marie F. (nee Moran), loving father of Mary Ann (Michael) Leimbach of Munster, Michael (Susan) of Mokena, Patti (Jimmy) Pierce of Chicago, and Teri (Steve) Spearson of Manhattan, proud grandfather of Kelly (David) Hartman, Brian (Megan) Holba, Erin (David) Bonchik, Tim (Stacey) Leimbach, Joe Holba, Kenny Hatfield, Emily Hatfield, Christopher (Leanna) Spearson, Brandon Spearson, and great-grandfather of Joemarre, Kyle, Madison, Allison, and Alexis, dear son of the late Stephen and Mary (nee Michuda), fond brother of Robert (the late Martha) Holba and the late John, uncle of many nieces and nephews, and cousin to many. Joe was in the 805th AAF and received the EAME Theater Ribbon with two bronze stars, good conduct medal, purple heart and WWII Victory Medal. Funeral Friday, 9:15 a.m. from Hennessy-Nowak Funeral Home, 400 Pulaski Rd., (154th st.), Calumet City to Our Lady of Knock Church, Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. Retired employee of Blaw Knox Co. Joe loved to play his accordian, tend to his lawn, snow plow and watch airplanes.
