Gorecki Family:
We don't have Doctors like Dr. Gorecki anymore. He was the best treating our family for years. Marilyn worked for him for several years.
I pray he has a special place in Heaven and is watching over all of us.

Dearest Gorecki Family,
This is several months overdue but our deepest sympathies go out to your family. Dr. Joe was always my favorite! I've even forgiven him for putting me in the pediatric wing after my apendectomy when I was 17! I think after 40 years I should. (Gotta love the guy)He was always there for our St. Michael Wildcats fixing cuts and bruises from football and cheerleading injuries as well as giving my Dad words of wisdom from the sidelines. Our love goes out to all of you. He will surely be missed.
Love, Debbie (Price) Borroughs

We were truly saddened to hear of the loss of Dr. Gorecki. He was our family physician for many years but his treatment of my grandmother was outstanding. Never once saying, “well, she is old” he cared for her like she was his family for many of her 97 years. Our prayers are with you all.

His caring was not only on a professional level, but on a personal level as well. We imagine that he is now tending all the cases of cloudburn in heaven at the moment, and we pray for all of his family members here.

Uncle Joe's life exemplified the Bible verse: Luke 12:48- “To whom much is given much is required.” And he shouldered his responsibility with grace and humility. A man of faith and family you were always greeted by his warm smile and genuine concern. He touched the lives of so many.
Sending my love and prayers of comfort to all of my cousins and their families,

Gorecki Family,
As I read all of the tributes to your father and grandfather, I see confirmation of the respect, love, and admiration that he has earned throughout his life. This is not something that is easily accomplished, but it is well deserved. I can tell you that our hearts go out to you as we feel the pain of the loss of your father and grandfather, as we too have lost a loved one. We will miss his kind and gentle manner as he held our hand and looked into our eyes as he spoke to us with all the compassion of a great man and doctor. He will be missed as we remember how he took the time to speak to each one of his grandchildren, and not just speak to you but admire and be proud of you and have interest in what you were doing. He will be missed as he cheered on the White Sox with his sons. He will be missed and thought of at Holidays and special occasions at Dave and Joanne's. He will be missed as we remember him with his loving wife (Mia). But he will not be missed in our hearts as he will remain there always. May he have peace and happiness for eterinity.

While growing up the Gorecki house was
my second home. Doc and Mrs. Gorecki
always made you feel welcome and at home.
Doc Gorecki was a skilled physician
who healed my cuts and broken bones.
He was so much more than that to so many of us. His kindness, generosity, insights and wisdom helped heal hearts and heal souls.
He was a great man with a great family.
God bless you in this time of sorrow.

Grandpa Joe,
I'm torn between the celebration of your home-going, and the sorrow of your departure. You leave behind a legacy of family. You've shared with us your passion for living, your drive to give your best, and determination to try your very hardest at whatever you do.
You've taught us that we can be whatever we dream to be, but that work, time, and dedication are core to our own success.
Your love for learning, music, reading, new experiences, and most of all; people- has been spread through you to your children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Your life, both personal and professional, will continue to touch and bless the lives of others no matter how long you have been gone.
You have arrived in your eternal home - Heaven. I imagine you there now, and try to fathom what it must feel like to be surrounded by the glory of God. There is no more suffering, no memory of pain. There is no darkness, sadness, hurt or confusion. The greatest happiness you experienced during your human life seems minute compared to the overwhelming, unending, unshakable joy you have now. You have never felt more alive!
2 Corinthians 4:16-17 & 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 say:
"So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light, momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we fix our eyes not on the things that are seen, but on the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
Therefore we are always confident, and know that as long as we are at home in the body, we are away from the Lord. We live by faith, not by sight. We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body, and at home with the Lord."
Sending you all of my love, until we see each other again,
Your Granddaughter,
Jessica

My deepest sympathy to the family of Dr. Joe. He was my childhood doctor from 1954 to 1960. He was the finest doctor and treated me for all the normal childhood diseases. Also received the greatest care during two attacks of Rhuematic Fever. He even made house calls during those years. He was kind, gentle, compassionate and one in a million type of guy. At 9 years of age, I was totally in love with him. Rest in peace my friend, I shall never forget you. Today, I am 66 years young, in good health and reside in Oak Forest.
God Bless and Keep you.

Dr Joseph Gorecki was one of the finest men I have ever known. He truly touched my life in so many positive wonderful ways. He had the uncanny ability to inspire people to become better versions of themselves. He taught me that humor really can be the best medicine. He was a man of so many talents - the piano and Claire Du Lune immediately comes to mind. It was so lovely to hear the echos of his playing fill the house.
I'll never forget that laugh of his. When he laughed, the whole world laughed with him - even if they didn't hear the joke. You could bask in his sunshine on cloudy days. Not to say that he didn't have a serious side. I had a few heart to heart's with him that I will never forget and always cherish. He made me feel included and a part of his very large and active family. It's hard to believe that a man with 8 children always had room for the stray kids that happened to show up at his door. I am eternally grateful for the generosity, wit and compassion he has given me over all the years I was so very priviledged to know him.
My deepest sympathy goes out to the Gorecki family and for all who were touched by this wonderful man. He will be missed and never forgotten.
