My heart has been deeply saddened by Joe's death. Cousin Joe was a great guy. The letter I just read from his loving nephew gave me insight on how truly wonderful Joe was. I wish I had got to know him better, but the few times I was fortunate to have enjoyed sharing with him left no doubt in my mind that Joe was a remarkably gifted man. His exuberance and love of life always uplifted my spirits. The wonderfully touching and warm reading he gave at Ruth's funeral brought tears to my eyes while at the same time a smile was always on my face. I can only say how remiss I am for not learning about Joe's death until today. One thing I know for sure. I'm a better person for having the honor of knowing him. I'm so proud to be his cousin.

Uncle Joe
I will never forget your ability to bring me to places I have never been through your stories.....the sleepless night you were in the army guarding the cemetery,I would always get the creeps.Or,cruising down some highway with Aunt Joyce and you would "stand on it".... my God,I could truly hear the roar of that V-8's exhaust. I will never forget last summer when we were in my Z-28 and I stood on it for you.Your big smile and beeming blue eyes told me I took you somewhere you had not been in a while.
Thank you for the White Sox games, introducing me to Dr.Pepper, teaching me the value of a strong hand shake, and never forgetting my birthdays.Thank you for loving Lana, myself and our boys like we were your own.
Good bye from Pleasantville, you will never be forgotten.
Love
Rich,Lana,Richie,Bryce and Travis.
