My thoughts and prayers go out to the family of Mr. Byrne. Even though I did not know him personally, his wonderful son Pat & wife Karen are very dear friends of my sister and her family in Naperville, IL. May you find comfort in the memories you will cherish forever.

I'm deeply sadden to hear of Joe's passing. He was my cousin, 2nd oldest in the Schaefer family. I remember him fondly. I remember him coming to visit Uncle Ed and Aunt Bee (my parents)and wearing his Air Force Uniform, he looked very handsome and all so tall. He always had a smile and had a gentle voice and that Irish twinkle in his eyes. I will remember him that way He has now gone to join the rest of the family who have gone before him and I'm sure there will be a party going on to celebrate and to welcome him home. My deepest sympathy goes to Joe's family. My prayers and thoughts are with them. God Bless him.

My heart broke when I heard the news, but I am also joyful in remembering all that made Joe happy: family, researching his Irish ancestry, traveling, and his love of cooking (especially his fabulous Chicken Cacciatore, sausage and pierrogies, and pork ribs and sauerkraut!) I pray that you're happy and surrounded by friends and family in Heaven, and will whisper in our ears from time to time until we're all together again. With love and respect, Goodbye.
