Joseph Burik Obituary

Burik, Joseph A. U.S. Army Active Duty 1943-1946, Pvt 1st Class, Company B, 101st Infantry, Rifleman and Bronze Star recipient from the Battle of the Bulge. Joseph graduated from Crane Tech, class of 1941 where he was a member of the City and County Soccer Championship Team. He spent his career in Manufacturing with long stints at Sumbeam Lightning and with Triangle Tanning. Joseph married his late wife Mary E. (nee Bartolucci) at Our Lady of Sorrow's Church in 1947. Loving father of Paul (Isolde) and David (Lisa); devoted grandfather of Alexander, Marissa, Lewis, Frankie and Nina; dear brother of the late Mary, Irene and Anne; brother-in-law of Theresa (George) Forgue. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Misericordia Heart of Mercy, 6300 N. Ridge Ave., Chicago, IL 60660. Visitation Saturday, January 9, 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home, 6150 N. Cicero Ave., Chicago. Interment Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Dear David , Paul and families, Our deepest sympathies on the loss of your father. He was a lovely gentleman and always made us feel welcome when we would come to visit With our Grandparents, Ben and Helen Appolito, Please know you will all be in our thoughts and prayers.
