Bauderer, Joseph James 81, of Hinsdale, Illinois, formerly of Mansfield, Ohio, died on Thursday, April 21st, at Manor Care in Hinsdale after a brief illness. He was born October 30, 1923, in Mansfield, Ohio. Beloved son of Michael and Mary Bauderer, and brother to the late Louise, Stephen, Michael and Bertha. He attended St. Peter's Elementary School and graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1941 where he was a cheerleader. He attended Ohio State University where he was also a cheerleader before enlisting in the U.S. Navy for service during World War II. Mr. Bauderer retired after 43 years as an executive with Westinghouse. In addition to his family, his many interests included gardening, woodworking, and golf. Among his many qualities, he will always be remembered for being "Young At Heart". Devoted husband of 56 years to Eileen Clara Tahsler; loving father to daughters Susan (Lou) Gioiella of Sylvania, Ohio, and Nancy (Robb) Knuepfer of Hinsdale, Illinois; grandfather to Julie, Joe, Tony and Stephen Gioiella, and Rob, Jenny, Lauren and Joe Knuepfer; great-grandfather to Jack and Josh (Julie and Rob) Van Cott and Lydia (Joe and Jerusha) Gioiella. A memorial service will be held Sunday, April 24 at 3 p.m. at Union Church of Hinsdale, 305 South Garfield, Hinsdale, Illinois. Gathering of family and friends on Tuesday, April 26 at 10 a.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 South Lexington-Springmill Road, Mansfield, Ohio, followed by graveside services at Mansfield Memorial Park, 2507 Park Avenue West, Mansfield, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations to the Alzheimer's Association, 640 Jackson St., St. Paul, MN 55101 (800)229-2872.
