JOSEPH AMOROSO Obituary

Joseph D. Amoroso Jr., 65, of Rotterdam, passed away Monday, November 15, 2010, at Ellis Hospital after a long illness. Born in Schenectady, he was the son of Yolanda and Joseph Amoroso and was a lifelong Rotterdam resident. Joe retired in 2001 after 37 years of service between General Electric and KAPL in W. Milton. Joe was a former baseball coach with Carman Little League and Rotterdam Babe Ruth. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Loretta Natalie Amoroso; his son, Joseph A. Amoroso and his wife, Felicia, of Rotterdam; and his two grandchildren, Isabella and Gabriela. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Along with his parents, Joe was predeceased by his daughter, Laurie-Jo, and his brother, Louis. Calling hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m. at DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Ave., Rotterdam. Funeral services will begin 8:15 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home followed by a 9 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anthony's Church. Burial will follow at St. Anthony's Cemetery, Glenville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Joe's memory to the National Kidney Foundation, 99 Troy Rd., Suite 200, E. Greenbush, NY 12061 or to the charity of one's choice.
