Dear Lee, Linda and Scott,
I have been so sad since my father called me with the tragic news of Jori's sudden passing. I have such fond memories of her from the Little League days when Scott and my brother Mark played together. I always lit up when I saw that Jori was at the games and she always made me laugh and she had such a contagious smile! She was such a joy to be around always. She was loved by so many and left so many fond memories. My heart goes out to all of you. I hope the love and support helps you get through this very difficult time.

I am stunned and saddened by the news of Jori's untimely passing. I had the pleasure of meeting Jori soon after we moved to Grayslake a little over a couple of years ago. She welcomed me into the community with open arms. Then we repeatedly saw each other at the pool or on the baseball field. My son Sam is friends with Bryce and Sean and I was happy to call Jori a friend. She had a beautiful spirit and zest for life. It is a devastating loss for the two boys she loved so dearly. Please know that there are so many friends here to support the boys to remind them how much their mother loved them for years to come. I am so terribly sorry for your loss.

My family and I would like to wish our deepest sympathies to your family. Jori and I met at Kansas University. Years later we found out that we were both living in Grayslake and raising boys the same age. Jori and I saw each other at every camp session, park district class, basketball game, and baseball game. As the years passed our boys grew and became closer friends and so did we. This last summer we spent all of our waking moments watching baseball and talking about life. I was so excited when she, Bryce, and Sean joined our Sunday school because my kids could never spend too much time with her boys. She was a kind heart and you could always tell how much she loved her children. Her awesome smile and beautiful eyes always lit up the (baseball field). She will be truly missed by so many, but we will continue to foster the friendship between our children and always be there when needed. Thank you for sharing Jori with us, even though it was only for a short time!

When I think of Jori I think of her as my sister. Not like a sister but truly my sister. We over the years had watched friends come in and out of our lives and we always knew that we would always be there for each other. In 32 years that bond never waivered. I still find myself not being able to accept Jori's passing. Maybe it is because I know she will always be with me. Jori was a unique person who had a way of making other people feel special. Looking at all the wonderful things people have written about my lifelong friend brings a certain joy that only Jori could bring. Saying I will miss Jori would be like saying I will miss my leg. She is a part of me and always will be. I love you Jori and life will never be the same without you.

To the Weisenberg Family,Bryce and Sean - You have been a second family to me and you have my deepest sympathies. Linda and Lee, you raised an exceptional person who was loved by so many. We have all been fortunate to have had Jori in our lives.

Love Always - Donnie

I cannot tell you how surprised we were to hear the news of Jori's passing. Our family had the pleasure of meeting her a few years ago when the boys were first learning to play basketball. This past spring/summer, my husband had a chance to coach Bryce on the travel baseball team. What a great support she was for the boys - such a good, fun mom! Early this fall, we ran into Jori at a football game and she proudly found us to tell us of Bryce's first out of park homeroom. Her smile and warmth were contagious! Our deepest sympathies to Sean, Bryce and the entire family. You are in our thoughts and prayers. The Shepley's

Even though Jori and I only reconnected a short time ago, I will miss her deeply. Sunday School drop-off and Baseball season will not be the same. I will miss seeing her at the pool and school functions; she always knew how to make me smile (even in the most stressful situations) and for that I will always be thankful. I feel lucky that Jori considered me a friend.

December 2, 2008

As I write this I am still in disbelief of Jori's passing. I was so honored to have Jori as my friend for the last 10 years. When I met Jori at playgroup, it felt as though I had known her forever. We could always laugh like crazy together and cry with each other too. She taught me how honesty is true friendship. She told it like it was and I so envied and thanked her for that. Jori was busy raising her boys and working but always found time to laugh and talk and be there for her friends. She was a terrific mother to Bryce and Sean and loved them more than they will know. Jori was such a beautiful person from the inside and out.
To her parents, brother and sons: I am just so sad and sorry that Jori's time with us was cut too short but as my 10 year old daughter said to me, "Mom-Jori will always be in your heart and life because of the the great memories and times you had."

i was so saddened to hear of jori's death. i was blessed to be a part of her life as well as bryce and sean's during their pre-school years. jori's beautiful open face and pure blue eyes always made me feel as if i was in the presence of spirit. we know that she had spirit-strong and true! i'll never forget the day i was trying a new lipstick shade and asked her if it worked for me. i knew she would tell me the truth, painful or not. she approved of the color and i still wear it to this day! thank you jori. my love goes out to her family and her "sisterhood of friends". life will go on, it just may not be as much fun. jori's sense of humor will be missed. please contact me if any of you need anything.

I truly am sorry to hear about Jori's passing. I was in shock and thought this isnt real. I just saw her last Tues and she looked as pretty as ever, her smile and her eyes lite up every room she walked into. I met Jori many years ago when she was both of my son's teacher in Beach Park, she told me that she named her son Sean after my son. She was such a great mother, friend, and teacher the world is truly short 1 great person. I know that there is nothing anyone can say right now to comfort you or Jori's son's but trust me some how - some way time will help. I lost my husband 16 months ago and I thought I would just die myself but through my faith I am able to smile again with all my memories.Jori was there for me through that tragic event and was a great friend to me then. She will watch over her boys and guide them just as she did while she was here. She loved those boys with everything she had, they will never lose that. I will continue to pray for all you to find strength to get through this. Jori you will forever be remembered by all of us.

December 2, 2008

I was so saddened and shocked to hear of Jori's passing. Our boys, Bryce and Zachery were in class together at Meadowview School from kindergarten through 2nd grade when we were transferred to New Jersey. I was the class mom and loved when Jori would come into class to help with the class parties. You could always count on her to be dressed to the nine's and her nails to look like little M&M's. I first got to know her years ago at my brother-in-law Ricky and Helaine's wedding. She was Helaine's maid of honor and I remember thinking how gorgeous her eyes were. The entire Meyer family will miss her greatly and we feel blessed to have had her be in our lives for the time that she was.
She always had a smile on her face and she will never be forgotten. My heart goes out to her beautiful boys and her entire family.

My family met Jori through GYBA. Although, we only new her for one season (also pool time and morning McDonald's coffee) she had the type of personality that made a positive impact. She was quick to smile, laugh and offer help to anyone. In the short time that we knew her it was obvious that she was a dedicated loving mother. Words cannot begin to express what a wonderful person Jori was and our heartfelt condolences for her family. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I only knew Jori for such a short time (since June 2008), but she had such an amazing way of making me feel like I had known her forever! Thank you, Jori, for making my life that much richer for having known you. I pray that you are at peace!

My prayers are with your family during this difficult time. Mrs. Jori will be greatly missed. I'll never forget my first parent/ teacher meeting with her, she was very dedicated and loving to all those she taught, her presence was very welcoming and made a lasting impression on me, even her toenails painted as M&M's. I am so glad my daughters first teacher was her. She has a beautiful smile that will light up the heavens. The Lord is our rock, call on him for strength and endurance and he will comfort you.

Ms. Jori touched the heart of her students and will be missed dearly. My little boy is too young to write, but I know if he could he would want you to know how much he loved his teacher. God Bless.
