Jordao (Jordan Zacarias De Abreu, 91, was reunited with the Lord March 24, 2007.
He was born in Madeira Island, Portugal on March 15, 1916. He moved to Venezuela where he married the love of his life Francisca Antonia, and raised their children. Jordao came to Akron in 1995. Became a citizen of the United States and established his residence in Fairlawn, Ohio. His life was defined by his commitment to work and his family. His enterpreneurial spirit and his love for cooking motivated him to open and run several successful restaurants. He also enjoyed gardening so much so that, at the age of 90 he was still climbing and trimming the trees at his Fairlawn home. He instilled his commitment and responsibilty to his children. He always reminded them that he never missed work even when he was sick.
He was preceeded in death by his parents, Manuel De Abreu and Ana De Jesus; brothers, Manuel and Jose; sisters, Fulciana, Jacinta and Custodia all of Portugal; and sons Jose Armando and Lewis Alberto of Venezuela. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Francisca Antonia; brother, Abilinho of Portugal; sons, Humberto (Marcolina) and Gregorio (Iraida) of Venezuela; Jordao of Portugal; Jordan Francisco (Daisy) of Lakemore, Ohio; Jordan Ernesto (Marina) of Hawaii; Jose Alexis (Carmela) of West Akron, Ohio; daughters, Dometria of Portugal; Norys Cecilia (Hector) of Fairlawn, Ohio; and Miriam (Gregorio) of Venezuela, and by 24 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren.
Calling hours Friday 4 to 8 p.m. at DUNN-QUIGLEY CIRIELLO CARR FAIRLAWN mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Saturday at St Bernards Church. Interment Holy Cross Cemtery.
