Jon Edlund Obituary

Edlund Jon R., age 63, of Long Lake. Jon was born April 29, 1940. Preceded in death by his son, Jeff. Survived by son, Tom; fiancee, Sheral; sister & brother-in-law, Barb & Jerry Hale; niece and nephew, Pam and Jon Hale; many friends and relatives. Jon grew up in Robbinsdale. His occupation as a drummer made him well-known to many in the Twin Cities. The Levee Loungers performed at many clubs here and on both coasts. They appeared at the Golden Garter on Navy Island in St. Paul and were the original opening band for Diamond Jim's in Mendota. After being the lead band for EXPO `67 in Montreal, they traveled coast- to-coast. From the Bonanza in Ft. Lauderdale to Mickey Finn's in Hollywood and San Diego, CA. The Loungers appeared at the Golden Nugget and Desert Inn in Las Vegas, even did a spot on the Steve Allen Show guesting with Mickey Rooney. In recent years, he performed with the Fugitives and his band, The Good Times Band, in the in the Long Lake and surrounding area.
