John C. Voorn, age 79, U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, beloved husband for 45 years to Mary, nee Larsen. Loving father of Heather (fiancé Jeff Murrell) Voorn. Devoted son of the late Jacob and Shirley (nee Nickelson) Voorn. Dearest brother of Randall (late Wilma) Voorn, Nancy (Jack) Davids and Barry (Shanda) Voorn. Dear nephew of the late John Nickelson. Dear brother-in-law of Ruth (Scott) Sonnenberg. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his four-legged friend Bowden. John was an attorney for over 50 years and dedicated himself to the field and his clients. He was licensed as an attorney in seven states/jurisdictions.
Visitation Thursday, February 8, 2024 from 3-7 p.m. with a Funeral Service to follow at 7:00 p.m. at Colonial Chapel, 15525 S. 73rd Ave. (155th/Wheeler Dr. Harlem) Orland Park, IL. Interment private with Military Honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Christ Community Church, 13400 Bell Rd., Lemont, IL 60439 are appreciated. John was our Condominium Association's attorney for many years. I admired John for his in depth knowledge of the
Condominium Law. He also was wonderful person who always
gave knowledgeable advice for many years.
