Dear Katie,
So sorry to read about your dad and furthermore to miss attending the services. I heard from Mary Alice that you are doing well in spite of your loss. It was so informative to read of all your dad's accomplishments in the paper. It's been so long!!!! I still have all the images of your mom and dad from my childhood. Take care, Patty

He was my Uncle. My fondest memories of my childhood were our trips from N.Y. to Elgin every summer for 2 weeks.Uncle John and Aunt Peggy were the best of people. They shared everything they had and for me,I was forever grateful. When it came time for me to go to college, they chipped in and helped pay my way.He was a war hero recieveing a bronze star with a "V" for valor and a purple heart both for trying to save a wounded fellow soldier. He didn't have to do it because he was an officer and THE Doctor but as you all know he never shirked responsibility.I shall always remember him.Take care cousin.Barry J. Branagan

Dear Mary Kay:
I'm so sorry to hear about your dad's passing. I have so many wonderful memories that go back to Rome, Italy with you and your folks and, of course, to multiple times together with your dad and mine at Butterfield and Butler chasing after the golf ball and analyzing every shot after the round! Your dad was a terrific person and one my dad, mom and whole family admired and loved very much! I so much enjoyed your dad's laugh and great sense of humor! I can imagine your dad and mine now both together in heaven playing the best rounds of the game they both loved and discussing the future of the Medical School at Loyola where they both dedicated many years of their professional lives.
My love and prayers to you and your family at this time of loss...
Mike

Our family spent so much time at the " cottage" at Fox Lake. Your father was always so gracious friendly and kind. I also developed and shared his love of golf. He was and will continue to be a powerful influence. We will remember him always in our prayers. God Bless,

Dr. John was a skillful and dedicated cardiologist, teacher, and administrator. He encouraged me to get additional training at a time in life most would not consider it. He never forgot his "boys and Girls". I offer my deepest sympathies to the family for the loss of this splendid man. I wish that health limitations did not make it difficult to do so in person.

Mary Kay,
My thoughts and sympathy to you and your family as you grieve the loss of your father. I share that grief as I lost my dad one year ago too. I have fond memories of jumping in the little white Opel to race to the train station with you and your dad as we drove to St. Ed's. I am thinking about you and your dad with a smile on my face.
Best Wishes, Susan Cooper
