My dear brother Johnny, how sorely you are missed by us. Your good Mother speaks of you everyday. She talks of you coming in for a "cuppa "as she and you used to call it. She is waiting.The year has flown, the minutes have not. I love you my brother Johnny with all my heart. Your good Father must have been so happy to see you and so so proud. Dear Marie, John, Matt, and Mike-
I haven't written in here yet because I really didn't know what to say. I'm so beyond sorry for your loss. Its unbelievable that we had to lose someone who was so special. I know that everyone is telling you this, but if you need anything... I'm always here! I love you guys. And John, you may be gone, but you will always be in our hearts and never forgotten.

Dear Carol and Mrs. Tabak - I just heard the news today. I am so sorry. I will always remember Johnny as being so strong yet so loving and compassionate. It's hard to understand why someone who made such a difference on this earth had to leave so early, probably similiar to the feeling Johnny had when his Dad passed away. I'm sure Johnny was filled with love and peace when he saw his father. I will pray for Johnny and for you so that maybe your joy for Johnny will bring peace in your lives. Love, Karen

Words cannot begin to express my overwhelming sorrow for you. My heart aches at the loss of my dear "big brother" Johnny. My memories of growing up at the Tabak house, my second home, can never ever be erased. May he rest in peace and always look out for everyone from above as he did so many times when he was with us. I will miss you Johnny.

My condolences to the Tabak family. I knew John from the Class of 1964 at St. Christina's. We had seen each other at the class reunion. My thoughts and prayers go to his family.

I went to Fernwood Elementary School with John and also played with him when he lived on Wallace Street. We lived on Union in the good old south side of Chicago! Rest in peace John.

I saw John a few years back at a St. Christina reunion and it was like we had talked the day before. He was his happy, friendly self as I remembered him all the years I had hung out with my good friend Carol. To all the family I offer my condolences. To Mrs. Tabak and Carol my heart is breaking for you. You all have had a special place in my heart even after all these years and I will miss John.

John, was a good Man, He was one of the best Boss's one could have! He had a great heart, and a very sweet man. My Deepest Condolences goes out to the whole Family!

I worked for contractors for many years for ComEd and John did brick work for us on many projects. I became a good friend of John's and always enjoyed seeing and working with him. We also had some good lunches with John Paoli and Chuck Smith as well. I am very sorry for your loss and will miss John.

Our deepest condolences go out to you and your entire family. John was always such a great guy to me. I will never forget when I first met him on my first day of work at Sewers in 1998. I was so impressed with his vast knowledge and the way he taught others what he knew. He made a lasting impression on me. And even after I got to know him personally, what a wonderful man with such a big heart.Our prayers are with you.

It's been several years since I last saw John, but I'll never forget what a class act he was. John was a few years older then me, and the big brother to Carol, one of my best friends.

Growing up in Mt. Greenwood, like most neighborhoods, there was a hierarchy. Basically this meant that the older guys didn't treat the younger guys with too much respect. John was never a part of that. He was always nice to everyone.

I'll always have fond memories of the long nights playing foosball, and drinking a few beers at the old Blub's Pub. John, more often than not, was the guy picking up the tab. John was generous, kind, and the type of person many looked up to.

I know John was more than an older brother to Carol, and more than just a son to Mrs. Tabak. For many years John was the man of the house.

Johnny will be missed by many.

I'm very sorry to hear about John's passing, my prayers and heartful sympathy go out to you and your family.

John had been my brother in law for almost 24 years, my wife Doris and I have lived out of state much of that time. I was so looking forward to building on our friendship after our return to Chicago. He was a gentle and kind man who touched hundreds of lives through his kindness and generousity, including mine.
