John Skarbek Obituary
John Stanley Skarbek, Jr., 77, of Frankfort, IL passed away on Dec. 3, 2025 at Rush Medical Center, Chicago. Born on April 25, 1948, in Chicago, IL, to the late John S. Skarbek, Sr. and Anne M. (Przybylski) Skarbek, John was a loving and amazing father to Jeannine Skarbek-Kubas, Valerie Skarbek, and David Skarbek, and a very special grandfather ("Poppy") to Alexia, Antonia, and Anasofia Kubas.
John was preceded in death by his Godmother Aunt Clara (Kai) Przybylski and nephew Scott Skarbek. He is survived by brothers Joseph Skarbek, Thomas (Susan) Skarbek, Robert (Laura) Skarbek, and many beloved nephews, nieces, family and friends.
John focused his life on his beloved granddaughters, family and dogs. A Chicago Bears season ticket holder and White Sox fan, John's other loves included corvettes, model railroad trains, oldies tunes, James Bond, and award-winning Christmas decorating. John retired as a Store Manager from Jewel food stores after 46 years of service.
Family will receive friends at Kurtz Chapel, Frankfort IL on Mon. Dec. 8, 2025: 3-8pm. Funeral service will be Tues. Dec. 9, 2025: 9am prayers at Kurtz and 10am mass at St. Mary Catholic Church in Mokena, IL.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Franciscan Sisters of the Sacred Heart in Frankfort, IL fssh.net/give
