Schnobrich, John Francis

John (Jack) Schnobrich, 92, of Lake Bluff, IL, passed away on November 2, 2021. He was born on November 13, 1928, in St. Paul, MN to Henry and Myrtle (nee Mossberg) Schnobrich. Jack enjoyed boating, fishing, woodworking, and building and flying free flight airplanes. Jack was a superintendent of construction at Skidmore Owings & Merrill, Turner, C.W. Johnson Construction, and Loyola University Medical Center. In his career Jack oversaw the construction of the Arts and Architecture buildings at University of Illinois campuses in Champaign and Chicago; Northern Trust Bank in Chicago and John Deere Corporate Headquarters in Moline, Illinois to name a few. As a volunteer he designed and built the original boat storage facility for the Lake Bluff Yacht Club. Jack was generous with his time to those in need of sound architectural and building advice. Jack is survived by his wife Janice (nee Nelson) of 67 years, father to John (Letitia) Schnobrich, Karen (Robert) Rynkiewicz and Kathy (Paul) Blahunka; grandfather to Gannon (Rachel), Callagh (Joseph), Brenna (Joseph), Madeline (Ryan), Natalie, Mollie, and Margaret; great grandfather to six. He is also survived by his siblings Henry Schnobrich, Jr and Mary Karges. Jack was preceded in death by his parents and his brother William Schnobrich. He will truly be missed by his family. Visitation will be held at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 Vine Ave. Lake Forest, IL on Saturday, November 13 th , 2021 from 9:15 to 11:15 am. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at the Church of St. Mary's 175 E. Illinois Road, Lake Forest, IL. Private family interment will follow at Ascension Cemetery in Libertyville. Contributions may be made to the Northern Illinois Food Bank, 273 Dearborn Court, Geneva, IL 60134 or (630) 443-6910 in his name.
