Many, many wonderful memories of John Quish, going back to grammar school. I ran into John one Halloween night & we became good friends. He was valedictorian of the 8th grade class & gave a great speech. He was by far the smartest person I ever met. May we meet again, some sunny day.

My friendship with John goes back to grade school (St. Margaret of Scotland) and I think he is the only true genius I've ever known and genius in the sense the great insight he had in so many different subjects. I wish I had a book of all the fascinating things I heard him say. John was in a Notre Dame English class interpreting something and when done, the teacher said, Nothing short of brilliant, Mr. Quish. That's the way I will remember John.
