Our family was so sad to hear that John had passed away! We have many memories of fun times with all of you while growing up in the neighborhood!! My deepest condolences to the Ploger family. I have such fond memories of growing up with the Ploger kids in St. Denis. I remember all the great fun we shared as neighbors, during block parties, softball games, pool parties, graduation parties, and of course, Denis Days!

My deepest condolences to the Ploger Family. Sgt. John was such a great guy and a super boss to work for. I worked in the 22nd District with him and will never forget him. He will be missed by all who knew him.

I will never forget the memories from visiting with John and Pat in Airzona, I shot the worst nine holes in my life, when riding with Pat that day. John just kept laughing and said better you than me. You will truly be missed.

Heartfelt and prayerful condolences from the Chicago Police Chaplains. John will be remembered at our next Police Mass, Sunday 13 NOV at 11:00 a.m. at Mercy Home (1140 W. Jackson Blvd.). In the meantime, may his family know the healing touch of Jesus Christ.
