John Plaskota Obituary
John Plaskota age 88, late of St. John and formerly of Lowell and Hammond passed away peacefully at Hartsfield Village in Munster on Saturday, January 25, 2014. Beloved husband of the late Dolores (Nee Podgurski). Loving father of Barbara (Roland) Scott of Ann Arbor, MI, Thomas (Linda) Plaskota of Naperville, IL and Andrea (Dr. Frank) Quint of Crown Point, IN. Devoted grandfather of Andrew Kate and Scott, Jennifer (Aaron Lippelt) Plaskota, Matthew and Christopher Plaskota and Nicole Quint. Dear brother of Jozef and Mary of Poland. Dear friend of Stella Artunian. WW II Polish Underground Resistance Veteran and POW. Post war, member of the 7315th LS Guard Squad attached to the 86th Fighter Squadron of the USAF at Rhein-Main Air Base in Frankfurt, Germany. Former owner of Brilliant Television and Appliance and Woodmar Liquors both of Hammond, IN and developer of real estate projects in Lake and Porter Counties in Indiana and Cook County, Illinois. Visitation Tuesday, January 28, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Noon at the Elmwood Funeral Chapel 11300 West 97th Lane (1/2 block west of U. S. 41 / Wicker Ave. at 97th Street) St. John, IN. “Celebration of Life Service” will take place at 12 Noon. A private family interment will take place at Elmwood Cemetery Hammond, IN. 219-365-3474.
