Jack has been such a loving friend to the whole Johnson family. He will be sorely missed by many of us. Ann, you and your family will be close in our thoughts and prayers. God be with you.

I have known Jack since we were together in the second grade on the East Side.He has always been a true friend and his work for Chicago will not be forgotten. Our sincere condolances to the entire Pettigrew family.

Growing together as children and as adults, we have shared in our joys and our sorrows knowing we have had their love and they ours.

Sharing Cursillo Reunions and Mass as well as breakfast at "Helen's" on Saturday mornings will always be a favorite memory.

JC was one of the first persons I met when I started at Bowen HS--he was always there when a friend needed a friend, I'll miss him.

Jack has made extraordinary contributions to Planning. His work will continue to be an excellent example to the field. Farr Associates Architecture and Urban Design sends our sincere condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

I have known both Jack, Ann and the kids since I was a young boy living on the East Side and they were the nicest neighbors you could possibly have. My sincere condolences to the entire Pettigrew family on the loss of Jack.

Jack was one of my first mentors in the planning profession. His thoughtful encouragement meant a lot to me. He never waivered in his dedication to high professional standards in urban planning. We will remember his friendship and leadership and will miss him.

We have known Jack ever since Ann and he dated in college. We will remember the fun together at the Bears football brunch and game. A very fine man, father and husband.

I was familiar with Jack for years in the world of planning and TIF consulting and I can honestly say I never knew a more honorable man. He will truly be missed.

I've known Jack since our days at Bowen High and he has been a good friend and associate for these many years. His leadership and dedication in the shaping of our City has made for positive change and will be felt far into the future. His talent and humanity will be missed.

I have worked very closely with Jack over the past several years. Being involved with the redevelopment of the Southeast side of the city, Jack always shared stories of growing up there and how much the area meant to him. Jack was an inspiration and very supportive of the City's efforts. We will miss his insight but have learned much from him and will take it forward in our work.

Jack & Ann always have been a very special couple, they have been sincere and loving and extremely committed to their family, many friends and community. Jack will surely be missed by many.
