Owens, John J. loving husband of Patricia (nee Smidowicz), devoted Dad of John (Ann) CPD, William, Joseph (Doreen) CFD, Michael, Mary Pat (Steve) Reilly, Timothy (Margie), and the late Robert, proud "Poppy" of Katie, Jack, Lindsay, Brett, Chelsea, Courtney, Lisa, Bob, Austin, Christopher, Sean, Kelsey, Patrick, Timmy, Owen, Erin (Mike), Samantha, Meghan, Stephanie, Matt, and Mary, son of the late Hugh and Florence Owens, dear brother of Sr. Mary Lou Owens OP, the late Hubert E. (Phyllis Owens Crowe), and the late Frederick T. (Sally) Owens. Graduate of St. Sabina Grammar School and St. Rita High School. State Farm Agent for 43 years. Visitation Friday, 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Funeral Saturday 9:00 a.m. from the John Sheehy Funeral Home 7020 W. 127th St. Palos Heights to Our Lady of the Woods Church 10731 W. 131st St. Orland Park. Mass 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorials would be appreciated to, either, the Salvation Army or the Dominican Sisters of Springfield. For funeral info 773-776-2700.
