I will never forget John, he was planning to come to Italy, and from Italy, a country he loved, I send this flower in his memory.

My thoughts are with John's family. I always remember John fondly since growing up around the corner from him. (even though he gave me the mumps!) I'm sure he will be missed.

My most sincere condolences to Hal, Barbara and John's family in California. I met John in 1997, during a trip to the US, and was immediately impressed by his profound knowledge of Italian culture, history and cousine. We have been friends ever since. I will never forget our music evenings in Germany, his sense of humour, his brilliant tenor voice. He was what the German poet Friedrich Schiller calls a "beautiful soul". Arrivederci John, your Italian friend, Liliana

John was a special friend growing up. I will always remember him with a smile and laugh.
