Dear John, Annie, Mrs. Monahan and Family,
Even though I am very far away in body, know that I am with you in spirit. I feel very happy to have had the opportunity to meet your father and husband last time I was in Chicago. I know you will miss him, but also feel content that he had a rich life. I have heard nothing but good things about him from Tom. Please accept my sympathies and warm wishes for you during this time. I hope we can be together soon,
Very fondly,
Helena

Before John retired from Sears, as a co-worker, I worked for many years with him on international tax matters. John was a pleasure to work with - not only was he an expert in many fields of taxation, but more importantly, he was always respectful and always helpful when approached by fellow tax department associates. John was a kind and good person and I know that his family will miss him greatly. I extend my sincerest sympathies to them in this difficult time.
