John Menard Obituary

John Menard entered into rest on March 03, 2018 surrounded by love and family. He was born in Whidbey Island, Washington, but resided in Sacramento, California from a young age. He is survived by his son, Shawn Patrick Menard, daughter-in-law, Jennifer Menard, grandchildren, Alexandria Menard, Braden Menard, and Alyssa Menard. He was one of five children: Mary (Angie) Stevenson, Kathy Navarrete, Wayne (Joe) Menard, and Elaine Newbold. John is also survived by many family members, including uncles, aunts, nephews, nieces, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Kenneth Menard, and his mother, Monica Irene Menard. He came from a close knit family, growing up with a brother, sisters, and cousins. His family meant the world to him. When his mother fell ill, in spite of his own poor health, he stepped in to help care for her during a most difficult time of her life. As happens in some families, we sometimes grow apart from those we love. It was during the time caring for his mom, he was able to rekindle many relationships. John was a loving person who expressed great gratitude for every hand lent. He was also a people person who loved to talk and socialize. He thoroughly enjoyed getting together and spending time with family for special occasions during the latter years of his life. He was loved and will be missed by many.

J always called him Johnny , I didn't realize his name was John. I have fond memories of Joe, Kathy , Elaine, Angie and John playing all kinds of games once we were told to go outside and play. (Dark and cold)
We loved it) on the rare occasion that John would join us in cemetery hide and go seek, he saw how terrified I was and would say can I hide with you , I'm scared. Of course he then would scare the daylights out of me but it was such fun . RIP John
You get to see your mom and dad and grandparents. Give your cousin John a hug from me.
Love you Cuz

My brother John was known for having a big heart. I have very found memories of him durning my teen years. He took me & my best friend Loretta in hs to our first concert. We also went on many shopping sprees, and dinner dates together. He always made sure I had more than just the basics as a teen.
He has an infectious laugh and was known for his silly jokes.
He spent the holidays with my family these past few years. My kids loved his crazy stories, and jokes. My daughter would always tell him I love that you have no filter just like me uncle Johnny! Your real, you say exactly what's on your mind... Which any one who knows my brother knows that could be a good thing or a bad thing (Lol!)
John was always caring, he took care of our mom when she had her battle with cancer.
John cooked and cleaned for her. He made sure she was taken care of. Most of all he kept her company, and kept her smiling through some of the most difficult times in her life.
I will always hold a special place in my heart for what my brother did for our mom and me as a teen.
John, I will miss your smile and your laugh but most of all I will miss you..
Always and forever your sister Elaine...
