McGuigan, John J. Age 94, retired CPD and WWII Army Veteran passed away on Thursday, August 9, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Margaret (nee Tropp); Loving father of Carole (Edward) O'Malley, Margaret (Richard) Trench, James (Valarie) and Gayle (John) Fritz; Proud grandfather of Michael (Cari), Katie (Dylan) Purse, Colleen (Kleid) Gjataj, Richard (Ann) Trench, Thomas Trench (Christina Deornellas), Jamie (Brian) Juliano, John McGuigan, Casey (Christopher) Bauer, Kelly and Kylie Martin. Great grandfather of 10. Preceded in death by his brothers, Frank and Daniel and sisters, Ann and Margaret; Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Sunday from 3:00-9:00 p.m at Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home, 11333 S. Central Ave., Oak Lawn. Funeral Monday, 8:45 a.m. from Chapel Hill Gardens South Funeral Home to St. Gerald Church. Mass 9:30 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Carole,sorry about your dad.I read the death notice in the Trib Sunday. Lots of years since Chicago Teachers College.We've been living in Lake Geneva since 1970. I hope you and Ed and the rest of your family are doing well.

Our sincere thoughts and prayers are with all of you at this time. I have such great memories of both your father and mother,along with the times our families spent together through the years. I believe he is in a better place with many waiting for him, though it is difficult for those of us left behind. We are with all of you today in prayer. So sorry we can not attend.
