John Lee Obituary

Lee, John Joseph Age 78, of McHenry, Illinois, and Clearwater, Florida, died of melanoma on August 9, 2014, at Suncoast Hospice Care Center in Palm Harbor, Florida.He was born on November 2, 1935, in Chicago, to Edward and Florence Lee. John graduated from Loyola University, Chicago, in counseling, history, and education. On August 22, 1964, he married Carol Willie at St. James Catholic Church in Arlington Heights, Illinois. For thirty years, John taught and later served in administration at School District #30, Northbrook, Illinois, during which time he earned advanced degrees in special education, reading, and administration. After retiring, John taught English as a Second Language for ten years at McHenry County College. John's survivors include his wife, Carol; sister, Virginia (Ken) Evers; three children, Michael (Jennifer) of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois, Daniel (Kim) of San Diego, California, and Robert of Kalispell, Montana; nine grandchildren, Jonathan, Austin, Merci, Morgan, Amanda, J.T., Jacob, Sophia, Samantha; a great-granddaughter, Adaya Ann; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Edward; his sister, Maureen (Smith) and Maureen's husband Tom. There will be a memorial mass on Saturday, August 30, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in McHenry, Illinois.
