Uncle John always managed to make an appearance at some of those more important family events in Omaha as well as some not so significant. His presence filled an empty space for me. He is a very special man and I am glad he was a part of my life.

A sparkle in his eye, a contagious little laugh and the kindness and warmth of a very special man, this is the Uncle that will always be in my heart. Uncle John will forever be with me as I fill the birdfeeders, hang a new birdhouse and photograph a new clutch of bluebirds.
All our love,

All my adult life, John was more interested in learning more about me than talking about himself. He had a genuine love for what makes people different and enjoyed understanding those differences. When I finally compelled John to tell me about himself, his stories were wonderful tales about a challenging childhood and personal strength. He was always a gentle reminder of the benefits of a virtuous life lived simply.
