Dear Betty, Peter, David, Dino, and Celeste, What can you say about a guy who can bring a room together with a dollar bill, an organ he grabbed out of his trunk, or a joke. The bill dropping trick is one that will remain a staple in our family for generations to come. He always kept the family smiling and laughing whenever he was around. Johnny was great man and lived life to the fullest. I have many fond memories of him when I was a child and then as we grew up. We will truly miss him.

Dear Betty and Family,
Our heartfelt sympathies go to you on the loss of John. My fondest memories of John were at my Mom's and Dad's, Mama and Papa Somin (as John called them). I loved how he imitated my Mom, always asking "John, tell me something new." He would sound just like her. While we have lost a wonderful person, Heaven has gained a grand soul. They probably haven't yet figured out what's hit them...Heaven may have been a wonderful place but now it's even better!
Love ya! The Spoonhours ... Lou, Georgene, and our John (who loved YOUR John and his many tricks!)

Dear Auntie Betty and kids,
We are sad for all of you, but happy when we remember Uncle Johnny. Always laughing and joking. The funniest thing I ever saw was when Uncle Johnny and Uncle Richie would take their teeth out, wrap their heads and act like little old ladies from Croatia. I'm sure he's laughing and joking with my mom & dad & the others right now. Heaven will be an even brighter and happier place now. We love you all.

Dear Aunt Betty, David, Dino, and Celeste. I am so sorry to hear about Uncle John's passing. He was a great man who touched many people's lives. I always remember his great sense of humor and upbeat, positive personality. There are so many memories that I will always remember. I got my first dog "buster" from John as you might recall. I think of how he called me "Wes-a-Q" when I was younger and living next door on the east side. Uncle John was always good for a laugh and I guess that's what I will always recall first thing when I think of him.
I wish I were in town so I could see everyone and share in the grieving but also to maybe share a few laughs and celebrate his life. Be assured that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

Dear Aunt Betty, Family and Friends-

Our thoughts and prayers are with you in your time of grief. May your memories bring you comfort, and may you always smile when you remember Uncle John. He was a great person who could always make you laugh and was never without a joke. He had the ability to always make you feel like a million bucks when you talked with him and he always held court at any family function. As I write this I can still hear him saying “Hey Jas! Did you hear the one about the…” God bless you Uncle John, we will miss you but also know that heaven will be a better place with you there.
