Kane, John M. age 75, Veteran of the U.S. Navy, retired Chicago Firefighter with Engine #127 and a proud member of the Brotherhood of the Barrel. Beloved husband of Judith (nee Olejniczak), loving father of Linda, Eileen (Peter) Kane-Chesniak, Michael (Laura), Karen (Robert) Stakenas, Susan (William) Sigel, Patrick, CPD 008 (Kimberly), Timothy (Melinda) and Marilyn, CPD Unit 216, proud grandfather of Tyler, Kailey, Courtney, Kane, Dylan, Cooper, Nicholas, Leah, Jordan and Carter, fond brother of Katherine, Joanne and the late Thomas, dear brother-in-law, uncle and a friend to many. Funeral Friday, 8:45 a.m., at Damar-Kaminski Funeral Home & Crematorium, 7861 S. 88th Ave. (2 mi. West of 79th & Harlem), Justice, IL to Symphorosa Church. Mass 9:30 a.m. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, 3 to 9 p.m. 708-496-0200.

Dear Kane family,
I was sorry to hear about Jack, and I remember what great side work he did for our family but best of all seeing his smiling face at fires for years while I was driving the canteen and later dispatching him to calls from the Fire Alarm...he will surely be missed by all!
