My condolences to the family.

Upon reading the death notice I wondered if your dearly departed Jack was the same Jack Hynes I worked with in the accounting dept at Reynolds Metals Co. in McCook in the mid-1950's. I have several fond memories of our good times. From the descriptions of Jack in the obit and the comments from others in this guest book it seems they are describing the "character" I knew.

If I do not hear back from anyone, I will assume there was another Jack Hynes out there who may have come from the same seed way back in time.

I basically grew up next door to the whole family. I was around when Billy was born, when the elder of the two girls was married, when Mrs. Hynes was ill, and now. I will miss his wit, and his hearty, "Hey, Maur" everytime I pulled up and he was outside, and I will always remember dancing with him to the song "New York" by Frank Sinatra at Michaels's wedding at St. Germaine.

My heart goes out to the family, as do our prayers.

I will always remember...

We are sometimes blessed to have the opportunity of knowing "giants" that are among us. Jack Hynes was one of those giants and we have been blessed accordingly. I have fond memories of his humor and love of life; there was never a dull moment babysitting at the early days of the Hynes' new home on 100th Street. My prayers and condolences are with the entire family. Thanks for the memories; thanks for sharing your giant!
