Halko Jr., John age 82, veteran of WWII, U.S. Army, beloved son of the late John Sr. (Helen), loving brother of Anna (late Charles) Holz and Michael retired Lt. CPD 008 (Mary), dear uncle of Charles retired CPD 008 (Sandra) Holz, John Holz, Debra (Paul MD) Brisson, Mark Sgt. CPD, A#1 (Irene) Halko, Michele (David) Mariotti, Lisa Halko, Sheryl (Kevin) Murphy, Dawn (Paul) Ritchie, Kristin and Scott and great-uncle to Michael and Sara Brisson, Sarah Halko, Andrew and Michaela Mariotti and Alyssa Ritchie. A member of the American Legion Post of Stickney #687. Funeral Friday at St. Peter & Paul Russian Orthodox Church, 6980 County Line Road, Burr Ridge, Ill., 60521, where family and friends will gather at 9:15 a.m. for a service at 10:30 a.m. Interment Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation Thursday, 3 to 9 p.m. Parastas Services will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the Damar Funeral Home, 7861 S. 88th Ave. (7800 S. Archer Rd. & 8800 W. 79th St.), Justice, Ill. 708-496-0200.
