John Gordon Obituary

Gordon, John E.

John E. Gordon, 84, of Cromwell, formerly of Enfield and Chicago, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2021. John was born on December 14, 1936 in Evergreen Park, IL, to the late William J. and Margaret (Mullarkey) Gordon. John graduated from Little Flower Grammar School in Chicago in 1950 and Leo High School, Chicago, in 1954. He then went onto Loyola University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in 1958 and his Juris Doctor in 1961. John was a Real Estate Title Examiner, he worked for many years at the Chicago Title Insurance Company and the Pioneer National Title Insurance Company. John enjoyed traveling and was an avid reader. John appreciated a handwritten letter and corresponded frequently with family and friends around the world. He was fascinated with genealogy and was always looking into his family history and filling out family trees. John valued the time he spent with family and friends most of all. He enjoyed the dining room table discussions where stories were told, politics debated and lively banter was had with sports. His life was enriched by the friends he made at Covenant Living in the six years he lived there. John is survived by his cousin E. Joseph Mullarkey and his wife Mary of Wethersfield. John also leaves behind many relatives who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his brother William Gordon, Jr. There will be no calling hours. A Committal Service will be held in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Alsip, IL, on Saturday, May 8, 2021. For further information, or to leave a condolence, please visit FarleySullivan.com.
