Kim, Josh, Justin, and Jacob-
To this day we can not express our sorrow enough. We speak often of his legacy, and all we learned from him. I am honored to have known him. He was a great man of God and he is proud of you all, I know. We continue to pray for you and miss you.

Kim, Josh, Jacob & Justin,
I know it has taken me awhile to finaly sign this guest book but I was having a hard time gathering my thoughts. I think I have finaly got it...Ok here it goes.... I know that I have not known you and your family very long but I want you to know John has left a long lasting impression on me and my son. In the short time I have known John I can safly say is was one of the most giving and caring people I have ever met.
Even though he was very busy in his own life he still made time for everyone else, even people he didn't know. John was also a good role model for my son and Justin will always be grateful for the time he spent with John and he wants you to know that he will never forget him and misses him very much. I know the next few months will be hard but I hope it helps to know that John is now with god and that while he was here ( though not long enough ) he made a real difference in a lot of peoples lives. I am so blessed to have been able to know John as is everyone else who knew him.
Please let me know if you or the boys need anything.

Dear Kim,
I don't remember ever seeing John without a smile on his face. He encouraged us in so many ways. I felt so privileged that you and he let Josh be part of our elementary drama team. We are praying for you. Much love, The Bjerke Family

Dear Kim, Josh, Jacob, & Justin -
I cannot begin to tell you how sorry I am at John's passing. We will greatly miss "The Big Banana" at AWANA. Though we have the comfort of knowing that he is with our Lord and Savior and we will see him again one day, it does not diminish the anguish you are going through. You are daily in the prayers of myself and my daughters that you will find peace and comfort in our Lord now and in the months ahead.
I would like to give you the guest book generated from this website if you so desire one - just let me know.

Kim,
My husband and I are the Awana Cubbie directors at RGBC. We only knew John for a short time. This poem was written by Christina, one of our assistants. I hope it comforts you to know that he was so well loved and will be so greatly missed even by those of us who knew him for such a short time! We will continue to keep you and your children in our prayers.
*************
If we would have known that tomorrow would not come,
Would we have embraced who you were?
Would we have looked into your eyes one more time,
or listened a little closer to your wisdom?
If we could have known that you would be gone,
would we have expressed our feelings so that you knew?
If I would have had the chance, I would have told you how much your smile lit up the room;
I would have listened to your laughter a little longer;
and I would have thanked you for your awe-inspiring personality.
No one here on this earth knew there wasn't going to be another chance to voice how we felt about you--to you.
I know how you touched so many lives,
I know how much you meant to so many people,
I know how many young children loved having their time with you.
So now you have gone to work with the Lord,
You have received your wings,
and in the wake of this tragedy that we all feel for our loss,
we all know that you are standing with our Father.
Thank you, John, for being the believer that God wanted you to be,
And for blessing our lives with knowing a truly spectacular man.
Rest In Peace, John!!! You will be forever in our hearts!!!

Dear Kim and boys:
When I worked with John in Awanas, he was always such a great encouragement to the children. We saw and spoke with him more recently at Gymstars, and my husband David and I commented on his great attitude and love of life and love of God. We enjoyed seeing him so actively involved in his children's activities.
I was incredibly saddened for you and the boys upon learning of John's passing. I realize that John is in the presence of the Lord, and in a much better place, waiting for everyone else to join him. However, I also realize that you and the boys are enduring pain that is incredibly intense. We have been remembering you in our prayers.
Please contact us, or have someone close to you contact us, as we would like to help in any way we can.

There is an expression: "I can't explain it but I know it when I see it".
John was a wonderful, caring, devoted, loving husband and father.
John loved his Lord and Savior.
John gave and gave and always had that never to be forgotten smile.
I know these things because I've seen it.
John is with his Lord now, much sooner than we wanted, but he is there.
That is the comfort.
