My sincere condolences to your family for the loss of your love one. May the God of comfort be with you during this sad occasion and may his loving words at John 6:40 console your heart.

The SSS Class of 1968 remember John as a quiet, laid-back guy with a quirky sense of humor and that lopsided smile. You could set your watch by him as he and Frank Rog walked down Whipple Street, rain-or-shine, to get to school at the end of the block. He was one of the few military veterans in our class; stand up guy!

We called John "Fix it John" because he could fix anything.
My husband Bill Pelz had met him years ago and I met him 15 years ago, when Bill asked him to come over and take a look at some things in our new house that needed to be fixed. That was the start of a close relationship between the three of us.
John was one of the sweetest men I have ever known. Whenever he finished fixing something in our home, Bill would ask him what we owed. Whatever he said, it was always too low and Bill would pay John at least double what he had asked for.
I will always remember him riding his bike to our home in good weather. He always has a smile on his face and a big hello for me. He had a chuckling laugh and a good sense of humor. He always made us smile
He had a quiet voice and was kind to everyone he knew.
My husband Bill died before John-if there is a heaven, I hope they are having a beer and some laughs up there!
I shall miss John and never will forget his amazing talent to fix anything he touched and his warm friendship.

John was always a kind gentleman, with a great laugh, and quirky sense of humor, as noted above/below. Those of us who are family at The Trading Post, where he lived out the end of his life, are very saddened by his departure. He's leaving a BIG void in our lives. We loved him and will miss him.

The SSS Class of 1968 fondly remember John as a quiet, laid-back good guy with a quirky sense of humor. He was among the few of us that stayed in the old neighborhood and saw Armitage/Humboldt transform from working class area to trendy gentrified neighborhood. Our thoughts are with his siblings.
