Fr Jack was my cousin through a shared Great Grandmother called Bridget Farrely McKenna Tevlin. Although Fr Jack's branch of my family emigrated to the USA, they never forgot their Irish roots. I am so glad that they didn't, because it meant that I had the pleasure of meeting Fr Jack twice, and his twin Sr Joan once.
The first time that I met Fr Jack was on a trip to Washington in the 1980s. Fr Jack met my boyfriend and I (now my husband) at the airport with a little sign and a beaming smile. We spent several days with Fr Jack as our guide, and what an excellent guide he was. While I enjoyed seeing the sights of Washington, it was Jack's warmth, kindness and true goodness that will always stay with me. I was living in London at the time, and was probably a cynical city dweller. By the end of my couple of days I know that Fr Jack's infectious kindness was rubbing off on me too, and I would like to think I am a better person for having met him.
The second occasion that I met Fr Jack was in August 2000, when he travelled to Ireland with Sr Joan. By this time my husband and I had moved to Drogheda, Ireland with my parents. They stayed with my parents, and I arrived home from hospital with my third child! What a joy it was to share this happy time with Fr Jack and Sr Joan. I know that my life was enriched both spiritually and emotionally by meeting them both, and I am so glad that the family connection was maintained.
Our deepest condolences to Sr Joan and the Farley family at this very sad time.

May your memories give you peace and comfort of your loved one. Words fall short of expressing my sorrow for the loss of your loved one. May GOD be with you all during this difficult time. 1 Thessalonians 4:14 For if we have faith that Jesus died and rose again, so too God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep in death through Jesus.

Incredible life well lived had Fr Jack! Created so much energy and brought joy with his smile and laugh. Certainly was told to cut the line and head straight in when he arrived at Heavens Gate! I will miss my Uncle Fr Jack!
