John Dowling Obituary

Dowling, John J. Age 81, of Sugar Grove, formerly of Lyons, IL, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by the love of his family on Tuesday, March 08, 2011. He is survived by his Irish bride, Monica; Five children: Margaret Cox of Manhattan, IL, Patricia Dowling of Frankfurt, IL, John (Lori Dempsey) Dowling of Wildwood, IL, Deanna (Craig) Knoche of Elburn, IL and Robert Dowling of Countryside, IL; 5 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 siblings: Rose King of Oakbrook, IL and Mary Hamrogue of LaGrange, IL; Many nieces, nephews, cousins and a family of friends both here and across the pond. He is preceded in death by his parents. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. at Conley Funeral Home, 116 W. Pierce St., Elburn, IL on Friday, March 11, 2011. A mass to celebrate his life will be held at St. Gall Catholic Church, Saturday, March 12, at 1 p.m. Fr. Karl Ganss, pastor of the church, will officiate and interment will follow at St. Gall Cemetery. A memorial has been established in his name to benefit Season's Hospice. Checks may be made to the "John Dowling Memorial" and mailed in care of P.O. Box 66, Elburn, 60119. Tributes may also be forwarded to the same address or on the web at www.conleycare.com.
