John J. Debnar, age 93 of Oak Brook, formerly of Brookfield and Countryside. Air Force Veteran, Barber and Deacon at St. Barbara's Church for 40 years. Beloved husband of the late Mary Ann Debnar, nee Byczek; fond father of Steven (Lynnette) Debnar, Jack (Julie) Debnar, Mary Ann Debnar, Tim (Sandi) Debnar and Chris (Lehua) Debnar; grandfather of Steve, Brad (Rebecca), Kandice (Paul), Lynnzee (Matt), Matt (Dana), Kristen (Nick), Kaitlyn, Mackenzie (fiancé Nick), Madison, Elena, Dahlia and Violet Debnar; great grandfather of Brantley, Hunter, Rosalee, Milo, Brynlee and Roarke; brother of late Joe (the late Renee) Debnar, Mike (the late Cita) Debnar and Helen (the late Ralph) Benway; uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Visitation Sunday, November 26, 2023 from 2 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Hitzeman Funeral Home Ltd., 9445 West 31st Street, Brookfield, IL 60513. John will Lie in State Monday, November 27, 2023 at St. Barbara Church, 4000 Prairie Ave, Brookfield, IL 60513, from 9:30 A.M. to time of Funeral Mass at 10:00 A.M.
Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery – Elwood, IL.

To the Debnar family, my condolences and prayers. John was my barber and fellow choir member back when my family lived in Brookfield. I was privileged to know many of your family during your school days at St Barbara´s. Those years are forever embedded in my memory. He is now back with Mary Ann. RIP!

Sending love and condolences to the Debnar family. Chris, I remember meeting and hanging out with Deac and your mom on many occasions in Seal Beach when they came to visit. Their stories with friends and love for family resonated. May the Lord open his arms and welcome a great man into heaven to reunite with his wife. Lots of love to you "Dunbar". RIP Deac, RIP
