John Cook Obituary

Mary and Family,

I was just informed of Jack's passing and I am deeply saddened. I am so sorry that I did not know about this sooner. I will miss Jack sitting outside on the back patio watching his ball games on the TV. He was such a kind and happy person. Billy loved to talk to him about the Chicago Fire Department. Please accept my deepest sympathy at this time. Your family will be in my prayers.

Dear Karen and family,
We are so sorry to hear of Jack's passing, please know that you are in out thoughts and prayers always.

Jack Cook was my friend from the first moment I met him; it seems the same was true of everyone Jack met. Jack and Mary Cook are without a doubt the most hospitable people I have ever met and welcomed me into their extended family which continues to be a blessing to me. Now that Jack is with God, both will understand the concept of "Best Friend!"

I had many a great time with Jack in the Pyro office in Elmhurst and Burr Ridge. Jack taught me alot about the business and life, I will miss him.

I was really sorry to read of Jack's passing. I always remember Jack with a smile on his face and continually laughing. It's been a long, long time since we have seen or spoken to each other, but I fondly remember our days living across the street from each other on Marshfield Avenue. I also vividly remember you and the kids (I am not sure if anyone other than J.J. would remember the Weimars)and it doesn't seem possible that almost forty years have gone bye since that time.

I just wanted to say hello and offer my sympathies on behalf of Jim, Jack, Suzy and myself.

I'm sorry. I worked with Jack for many years at Pyro. He touched my heart (as he did with so many of us in the office) in such a warm, personal, funny and cheerful way. He'll always be remembered in this way.

I had the pleasure to work with Jack during his time at Cerberus. Jack was a fun loving man who made every day the best day. His love for his family was beyond compare.
Jack was a great man who will be greatly missed.

You were a very special person, a man who spent his life fighting fires, saving lives, surrounding himself with good friends and LOVING his family.

Jack I think about you frequently and I will continuing living the things you thought me.

In the tablet of his life he has left a living legacy of those he has helped. In two professions, with one heart he served many. He is a veteran and will be missed for who he was and what his beingness brought "in service to others". His presence in this life will not be forgotten.
