John F. Boyle, Jr., 89, of Huntley, died December 28, 2020
Visitation will be on Friday, January 8, 2021 from 6-8pm and Saturday, January 9, 2021 from 9-11:00am with a service at 11:00am all at DeFiore Funeral Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the USO /www.uso.org/donate
John was born July 17, 1931 in Chicago, the son of John F. and Katherine Boyle. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. He worked in resilient floor covering sales. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.
He is survived by his children, John F. (Kathleen) Boyle, Robert S. (Sue Ann) Boyle, James M. Boyle, and Tess (Neal) Setchell, by his 15 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren and sister, Patricia Hankins and by many nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Barbara and later his wife, Arlene and by his son, Thomas.

Our deepest sympathies to the Boyle family on the death of their father John. We consider ourselves very lucky to have been his neighbor in Sun City. He was a caring, dedicated person; always fun to be with and will be truly missed. May the light of the Lord lead you through this dark time.

I've been reflecting on my fond memories of all the time spent with my Uncle John. I looked up to him when I was a kid, no pun intended, as his height always awed me. ;-) Of course, I mean I loved and admired him. I especially remember him as my Confirmation sponsor. I felt honored that he accepted my request to sponsor me, and I will always hold precious the memory of the good, warm feeling of his strong hand on my shoulder as I was being Confirmed.
